The Student Committee is a vital link between the student body and the faculty at SICC. The most significant function of the committee is to suggest and contribute to all issues raised in the community and to bring new relevant issues to the community. The main focus ultimately is to act as a medium of communication between the student body and the faculty. The agenda here is to always keep students aware of their academic standing and reducing blind-spots. Student committees take up the responsibility of imbibing best practices so that our future batches can have the same or better system in place. The committees also deal with conducting open houses for the regular interaction between faculty and students.
The members of this committee plan systematize and execute the seminars, guest lectures and conclaves for providing themselves with an extended platform of learning. The members invite various personalities from the industry of commerce, banking, investments finance and the education sector. This gives them a chance to interact and put forward their doubts and questions to the masters of the fields and get hands on training and experience. Hearing from the veterans about real market situations and tackling of the crunch problems, this committee works relentlessly round the year to make learning practical and knowledgeable.
The most active and enthusiastic committee of SICC has members that have taken upon them the tough task of bringing entertainment to their fellow classmates. The committee has brainstorming sessions in the beginning of the year where they chalk out a planner for activities that will take place throughout the year. Events and activities like Ethnic Day, Formal Day, UNWIND, Fresher's Party, Commerce Conclave take place in various months to be concluded with a grand farewell party at the end of the session for the final year students.
The members are totally responsible for the execution of all the mentioned activities under the mentoring of their faculties and each event is designed to culminate in a gala gathering.
The cultural committee of SICC strives to provide students with various platforms for performing arts such as dance, music and drama in turn giving them an opportunity to showcase their creative talents. The SICC-ians perform on the occasions of Freshers party, Farewell, Teachers Day and UTSAV which is a celebration of festival of lights. The students also present cultural programs during events like Commerce Conclave and UNWIND.
While our students are sharpening their commerce acumen, SICC strives to provide them with sporting facilities that confirm to global standards. The sports committee of the college holds intra college competitions for sports like Chess, Snooker, Badminton, Table Tennis. SICC boasts of an active Cricket team- SICC Dashers and also Kabaddi, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Rugby etc.
Sports is a much cherished facet in the lives of SICC-ians and the sports committee leaves no stone unturned for an efficient functioning of the same.
Exploring the world and broadening the horizon remains to be the ulterior motive of the trips and tours committee of SICC. The members strongly believe that to gain practical knowledge one has to step out of the confinements of the classroom and venture in the practical world for it is in gaining practical lessons that lies true learning. All round the year visits are planned to local conglomerates like Pantaloons, NALCO, Ortel Communications etc that give an insight to the students about the functioning and practices in the corporate world. National trips to Delhi also take place where the students are given an opportunity to participate in the TIE-CON, one of Asia's largest on – going conferences focused on entrepreneurship. With an objective to envision and explore trends and shifts in the contemporary areas of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, TIE-CON Delhi will expose students to remarkable individuals and their path-breaking experiences in their respective domains.
Today's young people will become tomorrow's entrepreneurs, professionals, business leaders and community leaders. The club helps the students with developing various skills necessary to develop into responsible and productive members of society. This committee hopes to focus on the future by challenging their generation to test their talents, develop new skills, and confront issues they will face in their lifetime.
The committee looks at extending their services to the marginalized sector of the society by putting up kiosks for providing drinking water facilities, donating books at various NGOs and organizing and conducting plantation programs. The SICC-ians are also actively involved in the 'Joy of Giving' week where they take up projects to bring a smile on the faces of many.
