Industrial Visit – At SICC, Industrial trips are specially designed for industries, plants, factory sites, manufacturing units and ports to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and a practical working environment. Students gather first-hand knowledge on Organizational structures, business practices, processes and their functioning. These trips bring permanent intangible changes in the personalities of students and their perception about execution of actual field work. Regular visits are organized to encourage learning through observation of industrial practices aligned with the aim of conditioning the students in different professional fields.

In order to keep up the endeavour of multifaceted learning experiences, students visited Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL), India’s largest exporter of pig iron at Duburi, Jajpur.  These visits provide an enriching experience for the students as they got a live exposure to the manufacturing process. The processes, systems and procedures involved help the students to gain genuine insight about state-of-the-art of technology and allow them to enhance their conceptual skills in industrial entrepreneurship.

 

National Educational Tours – National Educational Tours are arranged every year to various parts of the Country to support student learning. It gives them opportunities to gain a shared social experience in a real setting, learn from their own experience as well as the experience of others to enhance their skill. Through interactive learning SICC familiarizes students with traditional livelihoods and ways of living of different communities to maximize their

 

Eco Study Tours – are conducted to give a real life learning experience and create awareness of the importance of ecology, environment, wild life conservation etc. Student-centric learning activities are also conducted to inspire students for plantations, promote recycling and get an insight on conservation and preservation of various flora and fauna. They also get in-depth exposure on local innovative practices for conservation of environment. Various trips are conducted to places like Kanha National Park, Jim Corbett National Park, Nainital and Bhimtal to expose them to the beauty of the natural environment.

 

Heritage Walks are organized to broaden the socio-cultural horizon, strengthen the overall learning experience and get a flavor of the rich heritage of the Country, SICC regularly conducts Historical study tours to different parts of India. As part of this programme, students and teachers tour to explore and get an in-depth understanding of the treasure trove of historical monuments and culture. In Odisha, students went for the Ekamra Walk, the weekly guided heritage walk to reconnect with the magnificent art and culture of ancient times. They visit places like Khandagiri, Udaygiri, Dhaulagiri, Lalitgiri, Olasuni temple, Konark and many others to explore the architectural marvels and the rich cultural heritage of the state.
