Service the Essence of Education

To reach out and spend some time with the children of Asha Kiran Orphanage, Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar, students of SICC, Rotaract Club visited the orphanage on the eve of International Youth Day, on October 11, 2019. The Orphanage is inhabited by 20 girls ranging from 4 years to 16 years. The walls of the Orphanage were adorned with marvelous art-works by the little children.

The joyous expression and smiles of happiness with which the children accepted stationery kit and note books made the team realise about the art of caring. In the interaction session, the team created awareness about the importance of Education and how working on the 2019 theme “Transforming Education” will make the delivery of education more inclusive. Activities like singing, dancing, playful games served as the perfect icebreaker and the children let loose their spirit to shake legs and enjoy the session. Rewards of candies and goodies made them all the more enthusiastic about playing every round.

It was a life changing experience for the team of SICC Rotaract Club which taught them to develop gratitude for every privilege one has and resolved to return for the gracious hearted kids once again.
